Alkyd coatings<\/strong><\/h3>\n

They are based on alkyd resins (modified polymers of acids and alcohols), the coatings harden through a chemical reaction using siccatives (substances that accelerate drying), and because they dry quickly and are durable, they are increasingly replacing oil paints today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Polyurethane coatings<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If a putty, paint, varnish, enamel or other coating material has the adjective polyurethane, it means that it contains plastics (polymers) which, thanks to a specific grouping of molecules, give the materials interesting properties. Above all, high resistance to all external influences, which is why these coatings are also used on roofs, heavily stressed wooden and iron structures or on concrete surfaces exposed to abrasion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Epoxy coatings<\/strong><\/h3>\n

These coatings contain epoxy resins (so-called polyepoxides – unreacted epoxy; epoxy is an ether more reactive than other ethers) and are most commonly known as two-component varnishes or sealants. In order to harden, they need an additional substance – a hardener or hardener. These substances are poisonous, the epoxy paints themselves are not . However, epoxy resins have different forms and can be used in the field of paints for the production of various substances – for example, powder coating substances, binders, solvents, the mentioned two-component coating substances, firing varnishes, penetration or water-dilutable paints and varnishes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Acrylic coatings<\/strong><\/h3>\n

These coatings contain acrylate polymers (they are produced by polymerization of acrylic and methacrylic acid esters) and can be diluted with water or organic solvents, depending on the production method. Paints diluted with solvents better resist the effects of weather, while dispersed paints are more flexible. <\/span><\/p>\n
